NEW ORLEANS /via PRNewswire/ — For the eleventh year in a row, Ochsner Medical Center – New Orleans (OMC), which includes both its Baptist and West Bank campuses, has been ranked as the best hospital in the state of Louisiana by U.S. News & World Report. As part of the yearly evaluation, Ochsner and its partners were honored with more than fifty additional awards by U.S. News, the preeminent authority in the world when it comes to hospital rankings and consumer recommendations.

- The Nation’s Top Specialties: Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) specialty ranked in the nation’s top 50 (#43) and five specialties ranked in the nation’s top 10 percent: Gastroenterology & GI Surgery, Neurology & Neurosurgery, Orthopedics, Pulmonology & Lung Surgery, and Urology.

The yearly rankings and ratings of the Best Hospitals, which are currently in their 33rd year, are intended to aid patients and their doctors in making educated decisions about where to obtain quality care for difficult health problems or elective procedures. Regarding the rankings and ratings for 2022-2023, the United States of America More than 4,500 hospitals from 15 different medical disciplines and 20 different treatments and ailments were examined by News.

U.S. News evaluated each hospital’s performance using a variety of measures such as survival rates, complication rates, patient experience and level of nursing care. The Best Hospitals methodology factors in data from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, American Hospital Association, professional organizations, and medical specialists.
